omnia mea mecum porto

Welcome

My name is Calogero Bonasia. I work with organisations, processes, digital systems and knowledge.

Over the years, I have worked on the design and improvement of business processes, project governance, documentation, information systems and collaborative workflows. My work has often involved tools such as Jira, Confluence, BigPicture, Tempo Timesheets and other systems used to organise work, record decisions and make responsibilities visible.

I also write. Most of my writing is in Italian, because Italian is the language in which I think and work. Some of my articles, technical contributions and collaborations are available in English.

Writing and research

My writing moves between organisations, technology, knowledge, digital responsibility and the practical conditions in which people make decisions. I am interested in what happens when a process is translated into a system, when a document becomes part of an organisation’s memory, and when a tool begins to influence the work it was supposed to support.

I write for Stultifera Navis, an independent cultural magazine devoted to technology, society, organisations and contemporary thought. The magazine publishes mainly in Italian, with occasional contributions in English and Spanish.

One English-language contribution is While you were scrolling, someone was thinking. The article introduces the editorial work of Stultifera Navis and the kind of reading that the magazine proposes.

Books and international collaborations

My books are currently published in Italian. You can find information about them in the Publications section of this website.

I have also written about the work of Paul Szymanski, an American researcher and writer specialised in space warfare. In the Publications section, I discuss two of his books, Memories of the Last of the Original Space Warfighters: 50+ Years Fighting Space Wars! and The Battle Beyond – Fighting and Winning the Coming War in Space – Sun Tzu and the Art of War Applied to Space War, Volume 1. Both books are published in English.

In 2026, I co-authored The Invisible War: Anatomy of orbital conflict and the institutional paralysis at its heart with Paul Szymanski. The article was published by The Naval Review and subsequently by Proceedings, the magazine of the U.S. Naval Institute.

The article examines the history of twenty-first-century space warfare and the institutional problems surrounding a legally undefined arena for grey-zone conflict.

Earlier contributions in English

Some earlier contributions remain available in international technical archives:

These are historical contributions. Medium and LinkedIn were once part of my online activity, but I have closed both channels. They are therefore not current publishing platforms or contact channels.
